Photographer. Director.
Actor.
Your advocate behind the lens.

I have spent thirty years in an industry defined by how we are seen. From the high-pressure environment of a film set to the technical precision of a TV studio, my career has been an ongoing study in human presence. Today, I use that insight to bridge the gap between how you feel and how the camera captures you.

I established Geraint Todd Photography in 2007 out of a specific frustration. As an actor I’d sat for numerous headshot sessions where I felt like just another face on a conveyor belt. There was no direction, no collaboration, and I often left feeling like the final images didn't actually represent me.
I knew there was a better way to do it. I realized that a great headshot isn't about the camera; it’s about the space between the photographer and the subject. It’s about direction.
In 2021, I officially moved into TV and Film directing. This transition didn't change how I take photos—it confirmed why I do it.
Whether I’m directing a drama for the screen or a session in my Cardiff studio, my goal is the same: to find the 'authentic' you. Most people - business leaders and actors alike - hate being photographed. I specialize in the 'nervous' subject. My sessions are calm, unhurried, and collaborative. I don't just point a camera; I coach your eye line, your posture, and your intention until we capture something that feels genuinely like you.
Beyond the Studio
When I’m not behind the lens, you’ll usually find me seeking stillness elsewhere. I'm a year-round sea swimmer (there's nothing quite like the Bristol Channel at 4:00 AM to give you a fresh perspective on the day); and after every directing job I take myself away to an old orchard wagon in a remote part of Monmouthshire to disconnect and recharge.
Whether I’m directing on set or submerged in the sea, I try to live my life being as present as possible.
