- Technical Detail: The textured, earthy tones of the shirt against the mottled green background create a "location" feel while staying in the studio. I used a soft, directional light to create subtle shadows on the face, adding a layer of seriousness and "soul" to his expression.

The Character: Here we see a shift toward the “period” bracket - 1940s evacuations, private school settings, or high-end period theatre.

- Technical Detail: The symmetry and clean, structured styling of the collar and knitwear balanced with the painterly and centred lighting draw absolute focus to Dylan’s eyes. The deep, dark background makes his features "pop" with a timeless, cinematic quality.

Why it works:

- Technical Detail: We shifted to a warmer, tan background and used a vibrant blue hoodie to create a high-energy color palette. The catchlights in his eyes are bright and clear, emphasizing his friendliness.
